TIPS FOR A HEALTHY WAISTLINE
Familiarize yourself with your body's circadian rhythm
Your body has an internal clock that regulates all processes. When it comes to your digestive system, it's best to "eat with the sun." This means your digestive system is at its peak when the sun is highest in the sky, i.e., 12 PM-3 PM. This is when we should have our heaviest meal while digestion is also at its peak.
As the sun goes down, so should our food intake. Ending your day of eating around 8 PM ensures your body has enough time to fully digest everything you ate that day to begin the elimination process properly. This also helps to regulate your hormones that affect appetite regulation and metabolism.
You must get a better nights sleep!!
If you find yourself struggling to lose weight or carrying excess weight around your waist, consider how much sleep you are getting. When you don't get enough sleep, your brain function and hormones are thrown off...
We have a hormone called, "Leptin." It signals to our brain when we are full and satisfied after eating. We also have a hormone called, "Ghrelin." Ghrelin stimulates our hunger.
Lack of sleep disrupts the balance of these hormones, causing an increase in appetite, cravings for junk foods, and disrupted metabolism— all factors contributing to weight gain and difficulty in losing weight.
Cleanse your colon!!!
Your colon can hold anywhere from 5 to 25, yes, TWENTY-FIVE POUNDS of waste. This is why we cannot stress enough how important it is to regularly cleanse and/or detox (see Galactic Colon Cleanse).
Drink More Water
Your organs need to be hydrated in order for digestion to work it's best. Spring water with naturally occurring minerals is always the better choice. That, along with coconut water and water dense fruit, like the melon family.
Put down the over processed junk foods, animal flesh, white rice, bread, etc., and incorporate whole food, plant based eating into your daily life.
